DAAD LANGUAGE TEST English
Are you planning to go abroad for studies, an internship or research? Do you need a DAAD English Language Certificate? Here’s what you need to know.
Registration
Please note that for all matters, you should use your Heidelberg University email address.
- To register for the test, email the following address:

In your email, please write “Terminanfrage Englisch-Sprachprüfung” (Appointment Request English Language Test) as the subject line and include the following information in the message:
- Your degree programme.
- The purpuse of your stay abroad (ERASMUS, BVMD, PROMOS, DAAD, interships, research, etc).
- The application deadline.
- The test fee must be paid by bank transfer. Please complete the payment only after your appointment has been confirmed.
The test fee is 45 EUR for those who submit their appointment request using their Heidelberg University email address.
For all other individuals, the fee is 55 EUR.

TEST Content
- Writing: 30 minutes.
- Reading Comprehension: 15 minutes.
- Speaking/ Oral skills: 15 minutes.
DAAD Certificate
- Depending on the number of participants, you may receive your certificate immediately after completing the test. Otherwise, you will be able to collect it starting the following week on Tuesdays and Thursdays between 2:00 pm and 4:00 pm at the Language Centre, Room 307.
